Travel Grant Support for Student Researchers
The International Conference on Microwave, Optical and Communication Engineering (ICMOCE) 2025 is pleased to offer Travel Grants to support young researchers and students (up to 20) to attend the conference. This grant aims to facilitate and motivate PhD students by providing them exposure to the innovations presented at the conference.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- May or may not have an accepted paper or poster for presentation at ICMOCE 2025.
- Must be a full-time student (undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D.). In case of a Ph. D. student, the student should have enrolled to the Ph. D. programme on or after Autumn 2023.
- Must demonstrate potential for research through a SOP (Maximum 1 page) explaining their research idea and its novelty.
Application Process
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Completed Travel Grant Application Form (Click Here).
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) (maximum two pages) highlighting academic and professional achievements.
- Statement of Purpose (Maximum 1 page) detailing:
- Explaining their research idea and its novelty.
- How attending ICMOCE 2025 will benefit their research/career.
- Endorsement Letter from an academic advisor, or department head.
Grant Coverage
The travel grant will cover:
- Partial or full travel expenses (third-AC train/bus tickets) – subject to a maximum of INR 2000/-.
- Access to working lunches and dinner.
- Accommodation at IIT Bhubaneswar Hostel on sharing basis.
- Welcome kit.
- Participation Certificate.
Note: The grant does not cover the full conference kit, conference proceeding (soft copy), or personal expenses.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Merit of the research work (quality of research idea presented in SOP).
- Contribution to the conference theme and relevance to ICMOCE (as evident from CV).
Expectations from Selected Awardees
Submission of a report in the PDF format (minimum 5 pages) at the end of the conference describing
- One invited talk per day, and
- All papers presented in any one technical session of each conference day.
Important Dates

- Application Deadline: 21 April 2025.
- Notification of Award: 2 May 2025.
- Grant Disbursement: Within 3 weeks of completion of ICMOCE 2025.
Terms and Conditions
- Recipients must attend the full conference and actively participate in sessions and submit the report at the end of the conference.
- Reimbursement will be processed only upon submission of original receipts on site at ICMOCE 2025.
- Failure to attend the conference will result in the grant being revoked.
