Travel Grants for Student Researchers

ICMOCE 2027 is pleased to offer Travel Grants to support young researchers and students (up to 20) to attend the conference. This grant aims to facilitate and motivate PhD students by providing them exposure to the innovations presented at the conference.

Eligibility

  1. The author must have an accepted paper or poster for presentation at ICMOCE 2027.
  2. The author must be a full-time student (undergraduate, graduate, or PhD). If the student is a PhD student, he/she must have enrolled in the PhD programme on or after Autumn 2025.
  3. The author of the paper must demonstrate potential for research through a SOP (maximum 1 page) explaining their research idea and its novelty.

Application Process

Applicants must submit the following documents to apply for the grant. They are:

  1. Completed Travel Grant Application Form, which shall be uploaded shortly.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV) (maximum two pages) highlighting academic and professional achievements.
  3. Statement of Purpose (SOP) (maximum one page) explaining their research idea and its novelty and detailing how attending ICMOCE 2027 will benefit their research / career.
  4. Endorsement Letter from an academic advisor or department head.

Grant Coverage

The Travel Grant will cover: :

  1. Partial or full travel expenses (third-AC train / bus tickets) subject to a maximum of ₹ 2000 /-.
  2. Access to working lunches and dinners.
  3. Accommodation at IIT Bhubaneswar Hostel on sharing basis.
  4. The Welcome Kit.
  5. A Participation Certificate.

Note: The grant does not cover the full conference kit, conference proceeding (soft copy), or personal expenses.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be evaluated upon the following criteria. They are:

  1. Merit of the Research Work (Quality of the research idea presented in the SOP).
  2. Contribution to the Conference Theme and relevance to ICMOCE 2027 (as evident from the CV).

Expectations from Awardees

The awardees must submit a report in PDF format (minimum 5 pages) at the end of the conference. It should describe atleast:

  1. One invited talk per conference day.
  2. All papers presented in any one technical session of each conference day..

Grant Disbursement Within 3 weeks of the completion of ICMOCE 2027.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Recipients must attend the full conference and actively participate in the sessions.
  2. They must submit the report at the end of the conference.
  3. Reimbursement will be processed only upon submission of original receipts on the site of ICMOCE 2027.
  4. Failure to attend the conference will result in the grant being revoked.
